On Thursday 29th March, Dr William Phillips, Nobel Prize Winner in Physics 1997, gave a lecture in The Helix as part of the Nobel Laureate Lecture Series. The lecture, Time, Einstein and the Coolest Stuff in the Universe, was a lively, multimedia spectacle demonstrating how Einstein’s thinking is shaping one of the key scientific and technological wonders of life – atomic clocks, and it was thoroughly enjoyed by the 20 senior physics students from the school that attended.
