The 4th Year Home Economics students attended a chocolate extravaganza in Butlers Chocolate Factory in Dublin. The students saw how chocolate is made and got to taste the many varieties of chocolate. They were taken on a very insightful tour of the factory and saw the making of the chocolate right up to the packing of the yummy chocs into the Butlers boxes with the trademark red ribbon. The highlight of the trip was the making of their own chocolate reindeer and the decorating with different melted chocolates.
The 4th year Home Economics students took part in a wonderful sugar craft event here at Loreto. The very talented Amy Millar who runs “Cake-a-licious” gave the girls a truly inspiring demonstration of sugar craft. The students were completely enthralled and got to decorate 4 cupcakes each using the Disney film “Frozen” as the theme. Here is a photo of their brilliant work!
