The Home Economics department had a very successful open evening on Thursday 11th October. We showcased many aspects of both the Junior Cert cycle and the Leaving Cert cycle Home Economics. Country Crest, Total Produce, Fyffes, Supervalu Balbriggan, Flahavans, Glenisk, Mc Guinness & Sons, Siucra and Glenilen all sponsored the Home Economics department in promoting local Irish produce. Our sincere thanks to all those who gave so generously of their produce.
We had a wonderful display of textiles that our Junior Cert students showcased. On the night three students gave a demonstration of their sewing skills. This was enjoyed by many.
The students also demonstrated the making and decorating of cupcakes. They also served chocolate strawberries and marshmallows from the Home Economics chocolate fountain!! Kitchen 3 in Gracefield house was a huge success on the evening. Thanks to all those who visited us.
