Evelyn Glennie the world renowned percussionist gave the Keynote speech at the National Conference of music teachers in Malahide on Saturday October 20th. As a tribute to her Loreto Balbriggan past pupils, Jane Lawrence and Eadaoin Copeland performed the song “May The Road Rise To Meet You” by Lori True. Jane sang beautifully and Eadaoin accompanied on piano. The song was signed by St Mary’s Cabra Deaf Choir. It was very inspiring to hear Evelyn Glennie speak about her music education and how she prepares for musical performance. She affirmed the value of music education in children’s lives.
