On a Thursday morning, the students choose to partake in one of a number of year-long modules. These modules are Drama, GAA Future Leaders, Junk Kouture, and School link. The Transition Year production this year is The Addams Family. The show is running from Tuesday 31st March – Friday 3rd April.
Transition Year involves three weeks work experience. Students are encouraged to find work experience in areas that are of interest to them as a possible future career. If possible the student should try to acquire three different work placements. It is very important that students start looking for their work experience during the summer holidays and not leave it until September. Work Experience will take place during the three weeks prior to the February midterm break. The dates for next year are: Monday 27th January to Friday 14th February 2020.
We provide a number of optional programmes to the students in Transition Year. These may include a trip to an adventure centre, a photography workshop, a driving course, Gael Linn course and the Public Access to Law course. Sports coaching courses may also be available.
