Empowering Student Voice: Council Elections 2025

The excitement of the upcoming Presidential election was matched – and perhaps even overshadowed – by our own Student Council elections, which saw some serious canvassing around the school over the past few weeks. Election Day took place on Friday, October 10th, for 1st, 3rd, and 5th Year candidates. Congratulations to all of our newly elected and re-elected Student Council members:

Megan Geraghty, 1A
Bronwyn Downey, 1C
Laura Keenan, 1D
Isadora Vieira Ramos Nunes Machado, 3E
Hajira Athar, 3H
Anna Ruth Dillon, 3B
Chiamaka Chinenye (Chiamaka) Uchegbu, 5G
Erin McHale, 5H
Muireann Bagley, 5J

The Student Council held its handover meeting this week, celebrating the occasion with some well-deserved treats as they welcomed their newly elected representatives and bid farewell to the outgoing members. Thank you to Anne-Marie, Elsie, Roise, Clodagh and Lateefah for all of their hardwork over the last two years. We wish the new Council members every success in representing their peers and contributing to school life in the year ahead.

Xplore your Future

Our Transition Year students enjoyed a highly informative and engaging morning at the Xplore Your Future event, held at The Helix on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025.

The event provided an excellent opportunity for students to explore a diverse range of career options, educational pathways, and learning opportunities available within Fingal and beyond.

We extend our sincere thanks to Fingal County Council and the Fingal Economic Development Office for organising and hosting such an inspiring initiative, which plays an important role in helping students make informed choices about their future studies and careers.

Loreto Swimming Gala

Huge congratulations to our 19 students who attended the Loreto Swimming Gala in the National Acquatic Centre last week. Three of our students made the final – Saoirse Malone, Aoibhin Malone and Lili Murasova Patchell, with Lili winning gold and Saoirse winning bronze in their respective u14 events.  It was a fantastic day out, with all students participating and performing exceptionally well. In memory of Rafaella Costin, her parents kindly sponsored a shield to be presented to the fastest swimmer of the day.

1st Year Soccer Wins

Well done to our 1st Year soccer players who took part in two exciting matches against Our Lady’s College, Greenhills last week. Our red team delivered a strong performance, finishing with a thrilling 3–3 draw, with goals from Ella Tobin, Molly Tang and Amber McGuirk on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, our green team impressed with an outstanding 8–0 victory, featuring goals from  Zara Kelly, Ayla Fitzpatrick, Stephanie Donkor, Christina Ulasen, Maria Panfil and a hat trick from Sienna Crimmins.

Congratulations to both teams on their excellent performances and to all involved for their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout the day.
