Health Promotion Week 2025: A Whole-School Celebration of Wellbeing

Health Promotion Week took place throughout all of last week, and we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making it such a vibrant and meaningful success. The week was packed with a wide variety of activities that encouraged both physical and mental wellbeing. From the joyful throwback of Skipping and Hopscotch at the Old School Yard Games, to the daily Step Challenges, and the relaxing Wellbeing Breakfast, the level of participation and enthusiasm from students and staff was fantastic to see. A particular highlight was the 5K Fun Run/Walk, which brought the whole school community together in a brilliant display of energy and spirit. With perfect weather and a sea of pink T-shirts, the event created a great atmosphere as everyone took part in support of a shared cause.

This year, the 5K also served as a fundraiser for the Keeley D Foundation. We were privileged to welcome Keeley’s parents, Alan and Eimear, and her brother Jack on the day. Their presence made the event all the more meaningful, and the support shown by the school community was deeply appreciated. The funds raised will go directly toward the foundation’s work in promoting kindness, wellbeing, and youth support.

A sincere thank you goes out to all who contributed—whether by helping organise activities, preparing fruit, supervising events, cycling the route, encouraging participation, or simply showing up in pink to support the cause. Your effort, teamwork, and positivity made the week a true success. We hope that everyone left the week feeling not just healthier, but also more connected. Health Promotion Week reminded us that even small actions—taken together—can make a big difference.
