Learning Beyond the Classroom: Highlights from MFL Week and Senior Biology
We would like to extend a huge congratulations to all students who took part in this year’s Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) Week. One of the key events of the week was the poster competition. The theme, “Languages Open Hearts and Minds,” inspired a wonderful range of creative and thought-provoking designs. Throughout the week, students enjoyed a variety of cultural activities: First Years sampled a petit déjeuner français as well as a traditional Spanish breakfast of tortilla, buns, and hot chocolate, kindly prepared with the help of our TY students. Our Sixth Years tested their knowledge in a lively language quiz, while the energy and enthusiasm of our language captains and TY language leaders greatly contributed to the success of the week. A sincere thank you to all the students and staff involved for making MFL Week such a memorable celebration of languages and culture.
6th Year Biology
As part of their recent studies on human reproduction, 6th Year Biology students had the chance to examine a placenta and its membranes. This practical activity helped them see first-hand how nutrients and oxygen are passed from mother to baby, and how waste is removed. The experience supported their classroom learning while also highlighting the amazing ways the human body works.
