Leinster Senior Trophy Winners

Our Senior Hockey team were crowned Leinster Senior Trophy winners after an exciting and hard-fought match against Loreto Bray at Three Rock Rovers last Friday. It was fantastic to see two Loreto schools compete in such a high-quality game, with energy and intensity maintained right through to the final whistle. A special shout-out goes to our sixth year players Emer Fanning and Anna McNally, who were outstanding in attack and played a key role in the team’s success with their excellent forward play.

There is no time to rest for this talented squad, as they now turn their attention to the Leinster 1A League Semi-Final against Loreto on the Green tomorrow. We look forward to another exciting match as the team continues their impressive season.

In a week when Women in Sport is being celebrated, it was particularly inspiring to see such strong female representation among the umpires, coaches, and organisers at the match. Their commitment and leadership provide fantastic role models for our students. Thank you also to Muckross College for their wonderful support and encouragement on the day.

World Book Day Quiz

A World Book Day Quiz took place in the Library last week in honour of World Book Day and was a fantastic celebration of reading and literary knowledge across the school. Teams with representatives from every year group, from 1st to 6th Year, took part, creating a great atmosphere of friendly competition and teamwork. All of the teams performed brilliantly, with impressive knowledge of books, authors and characters on display throughout the quiz. The competition was incredibly close and ultimately came down to a nail-biting tie-breaker to decide the winners.

Well done to everyone who participated and helped make the event such a success. A huge thank you to our Library Captains for helping to organise the quiz, to the Quiz Master, Mr Doyle, and to Jane, our amazing librarian, for all of their work in making the event possible.

Junior Cycle Business Studies Awards Ceremony

The 12 students who attained a distinction in their Junior Cycle Business Studies examination in 2025 were recognised for their outstanding achievement at a special awards ceremony held in UCD’s Quinn School of Business last week. The event, organised in conjunction with the Business Studies Teachers Association of Ireland, celebrated students from across the country who demonstrated exceptional understanding and performance in the subject.

During the ceremony, each student was presented with a certificate to acknowledge their hard work, dedication, and success in Business Studies. The event also provided an opportunity for students, teachers, and families to visit the Quinn School of Business and celebrate academic excellence together. We would like to congratulate all the students involved on their well-deserved recognition.
