Well done to our Ember team who recently attended their Ember Renewal Day alongside schools from across the Dublin Diocese.

The day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to come together in a spirit of faith and community. Through moments of prayer, reflection, and uplifting music, the girls engaged deeply with the themes of renewal and personal growth. A highlight of the day was an inspiring talk from a guest speaker from An Tobar Nua, who shared powerful insights and reflections that encouraged thought and discussion. The day concluded with the celebration of Mass in the afternoon, offering a meaningful and reflective end to a day filled with connection and spiritual enrichment.

A truly wonderful day, and well done to all the students involved.

Senior Inter-Loreto Debate Competition

A big well done to two of our Senior Debate teams who participated in the Senior Inter-Loreto Debate Competition last week, alongside students from Loreto schools around the country.

Throughout the competition, our students engaged confidently and thoughtfully with a range of topical and challenging motions, including free public transport, education through Irish, and the role of celebrity role models in society. The teams demonstrated strong preparation, clear communication, and the ability to listen and respond effectively, all key skills at the heart of debating.

It was also a pleasure to see a past pupil, Bushra Alameen Betro, involved in the competition as an adjudicator, where she judged debates from the various Loreto teams and shared her experience and insight with participants.

While our teams did not progress to the final on this occasion, the experience proved both valuable and motivating. Our senior debaters are already looking forward to future opportunities to continue developing their skills in critical thinking, teamwork, and persuasive argument. Well done to all involved on a very positive and rewarding day.
