Loreto Balbriggan Spirit Day 2025

Today was an exciting and joyful day in our school as we celebrated School Spirit Day and the final day of Music Week. The atmosphere was filled with colour, energy, and creativity, reflecting the wonderful sense of joy and community across our school.

Throughout the week, our corridors, courtyard and classrooms came alive with music — from samba drums to bagpipes and everything in between. There were pop-up concerts each day, performances by the Staff Choir, Trad Group, and Senior Choir, and a fantastic concert on Wednesday by past pupil Soulé. It was a true celebration of the vibrant and talented musical community we are so proud to be part of.

Today’s School Spirit Day added even more excitement, with students arriving in imaginative and inventive costumes, both solo and in groups. There was a fun Halloween twist throughout the day, as students showed great creativity and  humour in their designs — some were truly spooktacular! The Costume Competition brought plenty of smiles and laughter, and the whole-school disco in the Gym at lunchtime was a great way to round off the week.

It was wonderful to see the charisms of Mary Ward, particularly joy and freedom, so clearly expressed in the creativity, community spirit, and generosity of our students and staff. Together, we raised awareness and funds for our sister school in Aweil, South Sudan, which is currently under construction.

As we head into the mid-term break, we would like to wish all our students and staff a very happy and restful Mid-Term break.
