JPIC

This week JPIC prefects have been raising awareness about the use of Child Soldiers in conflicts around the world.

The awareness raising campaign organised by the UN uses a red hand to symbolise the abuse of children who are often kidnapped or coerced into fighting. Children are denied the right to childhood and are often brutalised and trained to kill. The Prefects delivered a presentation to Fifth year classes and everyone was invited to contribute a red hand to show their opposition
to this abuse.
The hands are counted and become part of a global petition to end this traumatising war crime.
