Peace on Earth
Today the school community gathered in St. Peter and Paul’s church for our annual carol service. The theme for this year’s service was Peace on Earth and gave the school community a chance to pause and reflect on what is the true message of Christmas. A particularly poignant message this year, as so many people in the world are confronted with the reality of conflict. Our service, on the darkest day of the year, was a joyful celebration of the story of that first Christmas 2000 years ago. In her words of welcome at the start of our service our Head girl Yasmin Rasheed reminded us, “that achieving Peace on Earth may seem far out of reach, but it is closer than we might think. It lies in the word of God, in the story of Jesus and in all of us”.
