Prizegiving Cermonies 2026: Celebrating Achievement Across Every Aspect of School Life

It has been a memorable week of celebration at Loreto Balbriggan as we recognised the achievements, leadership, and contributions of students across all year groups through our Prizegiving and Graduation ceremonies.

1st Year Prizegiving

Our 1st Year students marked an important milestone with their very first Prizegiving ceremony on Friday 15th May. The occasion celebrated academic achievement, academic endeavour, and extra-curricular involvement, recognising the many ways students have embraced their first year of secondary school.

2nd & 3rd Year Prizegiving

On Wednesay 20th May, our 2nd and 3rd Year students came together for their joint Prizegiving ceremony, celebrating excellence across academics, endeavour, and school life.

Alongside academic awards, we were proud to recognise our Extra-Curricular Roll of Honour, celebrating outstanding student leadership, debating success, scientific innovation, business enterprise, and many other contributions to our school community.

The ceremony also included the presentation of our perpetual awards.

Senior Prizegiving

On Monday 18th May, we gathered to celebrate our Senior Prizegiving for 5th and 6th Year students, recognising academic excellence, leadership, and outstanding contribution to school life.

The ceremony was a fitting reflection of the leadership that defines our school community. A particularly meaningful moment was the official passing of the torch, as our outgoing Head Girls handed over their leadership roles to the newly appointed Head Girls for the coming year. The outoing Head Girl Team also delivered a heartfelt, funny and nostalgic farewell speech, filled with memories and words of thanks and gratitude.
