Students in Action: In the Classroom and on the Field

Congratulations to the 2B CSPE class who have successfully completed the Out of Eden Learn project, an international learning initiative developed in collaboration with Harvard University. Over the past number of weeks, students embarked on an engaging global learning journey exploring the theme of Planetary Health. As part of the programme, Class 2B connected and collaborated with students from countries including India, Spain, the United States and Argentina, gaining valuable insight into how young people around the world experience and care for their local environments and communities. The project provided an invaluable opportunity for students to develop communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills while recognising the importance of sustainability and our shared responsibility for the health of our planet.

Busy and Successful week of Sport

It has been another successful action-packed week for sport in our school, with teams competing across basketball, hockey, cross country and soccer.

Well done to our Minor and Junior B Basketball teams who both recorded impressive victories against Skerries Community College. A special mention goes to the Minor B team, who have now topped their pool and secured a home quarter-final, a brilliant achievement and well deserved reward for their hard work throughout the competition.

A massive congratulations to our Junior Hockey team, who have successfully progressed to the final of the Leinster Junior 1A League following a superb performance against a very strong Skerries side. The team displayed excellent skill, teamwork and determination throughout the match. The final will take place on Wednesday 4th March at Three Rock Rovers, where the team will aim to defend their Junior 1A title. We wish them the very best of luck!

Congratulations also to our Senior Girls Cross Country team, who competed brilliantly in the Leinster Schools Championships in Navan on Friday 27th February. Despite extremely challenging conditions, including steep hills and tight corners, the team delivered an outstanding performance to finish 7th overall. Well done to Ziggy O’Connor, Ava O’Connor, Ashley Guinan and Anna Ledwith for representing the school with such determination and resilience.

Our U20 Soccer team saw their season come to an end following a closely contested 3–2 defeat to Loreto Navan in the Leinster Shield Semi-Final. The team showed tremendous spirit throughout the match, with a special mention to sixth-year student Grace MacLochlainn, who made a number of outstanding saves in her final appearance for the school. This talented squad has enjoyed a strong season and will undoubtedly return next year ready to challenge again for league and cup honours.

Well done to all students and teachers involved.
