Science Fair
Our 5th Year students Cleo Gallen and Zainab Shahid were due to represent Ireland as finalists in Anaheim California this week at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair 2020. As with so many events in these unusual times, the fair has been cancelled, which is very disappointing for the girls after all their hard work. As a result the Society for Science and the Public, Regeneron will present all finalists with medals and have set up a virtual competition. National winners from Scifest were also due to compete at the fair. Scifest Organiser Shiela Porter has asked us to share the following with all parents and students.
“The entire science and engineering community is invited to come together and celebrate STEM through an online version of ISEF. Virtual Regeneron ISEF will take place from May 18 to May 22 and will feature the finalists’ project abstracts, speakers of the highest calibre, focusing on topics ranging from COVID-19 to entrepreneurship to being a woman in STEM.”
